Volunteer Waiver and Release of Liability
This Volunteer Waiver and Release of Liability (the “Agreement”) is entered into by the undersigned volunteer (“Volunteer”) in favor of Sasamat Volunteer Fire Department, its directors, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates (collectively, the “Organization”).
1. Volunteer Status
The Volunteer acknowledges and agrees that they are offering their services voluntarily and without expectation of compensation, wages, or benefits of any kind. The Volunteer understands and agrees that they are not an employee, contractor, or agent of the Organization.
2. Assumption of Risk
The Volunteer understands that participation in volunteer activities may involve risks of injury, illness, or damage to personal property. The Volunteer knowingly and freely assumes all such risks, whether known or unknown, and takes full responsibility for their participation.
3. Release and Waiver
The Volunteer hereby releases, waives, and forever discharges the Organization and its representatives from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, or liability of any kind arising out of or related to any injury, illness, loss, or damage that the Volunteer may sustain while volunteering, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.
4. Medical Treatment
The Volunteer authorizes the Organization to secure medical treatment in the event of an injury or medical emergency and agrees to assume any costs of such treatment.
5. No Compensation
The Volunteer acknowledges and agrees that they waive any right to compensation, reimbursement, or other payment for services rendered or for time spent volunteering.
6. Binding Effect
This Agreement shall be binding upon the Volunteer, their heirs, successors, and assigns.
7. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia, Canada
